Which Industries Will Be Extinct in the 21st Century?

ImageIn the just-published The New Industrial Revolution: The Power of Dynamic Value Chains, LitePoint's Dr. Benny Madsen and Rob Brownstein characterize today's Industrial Age by microtechnology, digitalization, and low-cost global communication. By comparing the first Industrial Revolution with the New Industrial Revolution, they are able to identify the common denominators that separate the business winners from the losers based on how well they can:

  • Accelerate product or service design, implementation, and manufacturing
  • Eliminate redundancy and valueless costs
  • Determine low-cost systems that work faster to produce high-end results
  • Provide consumers with value, choice, and quality for less money

The consumer electronics industry has led the way, but the pioneering lessons learned will be crucial to the survival of all industries in the 21st century. Learn how The New Industrial Revolution breaks new ground.

New TrueCable Calibrator Kit Increases Wireless Test Precision

ImageAll cables have some signal loss that varies with frequency. For accurate results, cable loss must be measured and compensated for. To this end, LitePoint designed and developed TrueCable Calibrator to measure this cable loss. The LitePoint TrueCable Calibrator allows chipset vendors, original equipment and design makers, and manufacturing quality-approval groups to achieve optimum test accuracy in a simple, straight-forward manner.

Nanoradio Gains Greater Accuracy, Repeatability, and Speed

Image"LitePoint's 'one-box' solution enables us to perform the same type of testing as with a VSA + VSG platform, at a much lower cost. It's more reliable and easier to use than golden unit testing, and more cost efficient than VSGs + VSAs -- with savings greater than 50 percent. While some testing products cost a little bit less, they lack the flexibility and stability of the LitePoint solution, especially when it comes to controlling software."

"Speeding Up Manufacturing Test of WiMAX Equipment"

ImageAs WiMAX ramps to full volume production, reducing manufacturing test time becomes critical. But, WiMAX manufacturing test is still in its early stages. Hence, this article, authored by LitePoint's Christian Olgaard, VP of Engineering and Co-Founder, attempts to show that by optimizing the capability of the device under test's driver to generate special non-linked mode signals, in combination with advanced trigger and analysis methods, it can lead to test times that are many times faster than what is currently possible.

"MIMO WLAN Test Methodologies for Manufacturing"

ImageFour different methodologies are used for testing MIMO WLAN chipsets and products. In this RF Design article, LitePoint's Dick Walvis, Fellow, Signal Analysis, and Sireesha Mallipeddi, Director of Product Management, demonstrate how each methodology has its advantages and disadvantages.

"Streamlining Wireless Test from Design through QA"

ImageImplementing a common test platform and methodology is an important step. But, as Anita Chapman, Business Development Director of LitePoint shares, the real time saver lies in the intelligence of the automated test software that runs on these systems. Consumer demand is driving shorter product life cycles, aggressive product roadmaps, and shorter time to market. With the correct implementation of test strategy, the time from reference design to production can be reduced by 3 to 4 months.
