LitePoint Enjoys Another Record Quarter

LitePoint achieved a second successive record quarter in Q2 2007, exceeding Q1 by 47% and Q2 2006 by 131%. Founded in 2000, LitePoint has had an uninterrupted sequence of profitable quarters in the $500 million market for testing Wi-Fi devices. As the wireless test market begins serving a converged wireless market in the next two years, the sales opportunity is expected to quadruple. "We will continue to do what we have always done -- offer system-level test solutions for the latest wireless standards -- and do it first," stated Benny Madsen, LitePoint's chief executive officer.

WiMAX Wave 2 Test System Introduced

ImageLitePoint unveiled its new IQmax MIMO system aimed at WiMAX devices with Wave 2 functionality. The mobility adjuncts to the current WiMAX standard (IEEE standard 802.16e-2005) require capabilities beyond those of earlier versions, and LitePoint's new system provides those capabilities. The current WiMAX mobile radio interface uses SOFDMA and supports MIMO communications technology. The upshot is greater coverage, lower power consumption, and more efficient spectrum and bandwidth utilization.

The New Industrial Revolution Debuts with 1,000 Book Order

ImageIt took a year from concept to hard-cover book, but The New Industrial Revolution, written by LitePoint's Dr. Benny Madsen and Rob Brownstein, is off to a good start. Just listed on Amazon, and with thousands of first-edition copies on their way to California, an order for 1,000 books has already been received. The book dissects the mechanisms by which today's consumer electronics companies are able to develop and market new products within months instead of years. What the authors found was more than a shift of manufacturing to countries with lower labor rates, but a paradigm shift in the very structure of companies and their value chains.
