MIMO Test

The first to deliver dedicated test solutions for the emerging MIMO market, LitePoint has greatly simplified MIMO testing, making it not only simple but very low-cost for both R&D and Manufacturing applications.

Research & Development (R&D) Test Solutions for MIMO

LitePoint IQnxnplus MIMO Test System for WiMAX and WiFi

ImageLitePoint IQnxnplus MIMO wireless One-Box Tester is based on an optimized architecture with integrated VSA and VSG. These systems test critical physical layer transmit and receive radio parameters during development, volume manufacturing, system test, and quality assurance (QA). They test the latest MIMO WiMAX (wave 2) products plus optional support for WiFi (11n) products. Available in 2x2, 2x3, 3x3, and 4x4 configurations.

LitePoint IQnxn Test System

ImageLitePoint IQnxn® 802.11n MIMO R&D Test System features a multiple, synchronized vector signal analysis (VSA) and vector signal generator (VSG) instruments designed to characterize and test the latest MIMO WiFi products. The flexible system allows developers, chipset vendors, and brand owners to test any and all configurations, including 2X, 3X and 4X, by adding LitePoint IQnxn expansion units.

LitePoint IQfact Production Test Software for MIMO

ImageLitePoint IQfact™ Production Test Software is optimized for the most popular MIMO chipsets including Airgo, Atheros, Broadcom, and Marvell. The test programs are a result of LitePoint’s partnership with leading chipset manufacturers, and offer wireless OEMs a quick, easy, and cost-effective way to develop and test chipset-specific solutions. Where specific test programs do not exist, there is

Manufacturing Test Software Overview

LitePoint Multiport Test Adapter for Low-cost MIMO Testing

ImageThe Multiport Test Adapter (MPTA) is designed to use with LitePoint IQview and IQflex one-box testers for accurate low-cost manufacturing testing of 802.11n (MIMO) products.  The MPTA enables testing of a MIMO DUT with the benefits of both a close coupled control, fast RF switching test and composite EVM test methodologies. Close coupled control allows the Multiport Test Adapter to become an extension to the internal test resources of the IQflex and IQview instruments enabling fast test times. Combining both composite and fast switching test methodologies enables full Tx and Rx manufacturing testing in MIMO mode along with accurate EVM testing. Rx sensitivity testing for verifying MRC which verifies MIMO processing.

Supporting the LitePoint test solutions are the IQfact family of manufacturing test programs for support of composite MIMO and combined fast switching with composite MIMO test methodologies.

Complete testing of MIMO product for design verification, debug and Q/A is supported by the LitePoint IQnxn test solution.

LitePoint MIMO Dual-Band Channel Simulator

ImageThe MIMO Dual-Band Channel Simulator box is used to create a basic 802.11n MIMO air interface. The primary application for this product is to enable low cost MIMO throughput testing at the end of the product manufacturing line. DUT 1a and DUT 2a ports are typically connected to two antennas with near field coupling to the device-under-test’s antennas. DUT1b and DUT2b ports are optionally used to monitor the signals. The included 50 ohm terminators should be used on unused ports.

The MIMO Dual-Band Channel Simulator box passively combines two RF input signals from a MIMO reference transmitter creating combined output signals for the device under test. DUT 2a and 2b signal is the sum of REF 1 and REF 2 input signals. DUT 1a and 1b signal is the sum of a 180 degree phase shifted REF 1 signal and the REF 2 signal. The MIMO Dual-Band Channel Simulator box operates with 2.4 to 2.5GHz and 4.9 to 6.0GHz frequency band signals.  The MIMO Dual-Band Channel Simulator box is part of a complete 802.11n test solution from LitePoint, including IQnxn MIMO Test System for developers, IQview and IQflex for manufacturing and Q/A and the IQfact family of production test programs for MIMO chip sets.

LitePoint MATLAB API for MIMO

ImageLitePoint MATLAB® API Software Package provides a MATLAB compatible interface to the same analysis and command resources found in the standard LitePoint IQview "C" API. Seamless integration into the user environment is achieved with support for both MATLAB v6.5/r13 and MATLAB v7/r14 saving both integration time and cost. This new software tool simplifies the advanced IC and WLAN product developers by providing a unified programming environment.

The MATLAB API Software Package supports all IQview test instrument applications including 802.11a/b/g including bonded channel architectures and Bluetooth v1.1, 1.2 and 2.0 with EDR when used with the optional LitePoint Bluetooth Software Package.

IQview users can now enjoy the flexibility of selecting either MATLAB or "C" programming environments with the addition of the LitePoint MATLAB API Software Package to optimize deliverables for the development lab as well as the manufacturing floor.
